Following Buhari’s death on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at a medical facility in London, many Nigerians have anticipated responses from prominent figures, including Davido. While several celebrities have already shared their views on the former president’s demise, Davido has chosen a different route.

Currently on his 5ive Tour, the singer took to Instagram not to speak about Buhari but to post a thoughtful quote on human interaction.

He shared:

“I’ve learnt that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

The quote, commonly attributed to renowned author Maya Angelou, was accompanied by emojis and hashtags related to his ongoing tour. His post sparked reactions online, with many interpreting it as a subtle commentary on recent national events.

Meanwhile, Gistlover noted that reactions to Buhari’s death have been mixed. Among those who responded strongly is Sonia Ighalo, the former wife of footballer Jude Ighalo. She expressed dismay over the way some Nigerians are openly celebrating the late president’s death.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Sonia mourned Buhari’s passing and criticized the insensitivity of those rejoicing over it.
