Famous performer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has crowned himself the global king in the Afrobeats genre.
In a recent interview with Billboard’s Nadine Graham, the DMW CEO stopped the session when he identified himself as the king of Afrobeats in the United States and claimed to be leading “everywhere.”
Davido stated that as the global leader in Afrobeats, he wants fans to expect “just good music.” And it’s strange because inmates have heard my songs.”
According to the musician, he is now working on two albums, one for the African audience and one for the American one.
Davido also revealed that his favourite collaborative effort is “2 AM” with Casanova and Tory Lanez, since the song perfectly blends parts of American, Canadian, and Nigerian cultures.
