Singer Davido has issued an apology to gospel musician Tosin Bee after wrongly directing his frustration at him following a stressful court hearing regarding his daughter, Imade.
The misunderstanding occurred shortly after Davido attended a session at the Lagos State High Court, Yaba, where emotions ran high during proceedings involving his estranged partner, Sophia Momodu.
Reports indicate that Davido became upset with one of Sophia’s lawyers during the hearing. Later, he shared a post on Instagram from Tosin Bee, mistakenly believing the gospel singer was connected to the lawyer.
In the now-deleted Instagram story, Davido directed sharp remarks at Tosin Bee, referencing his family and career. The post quickly attracted attention online, leaving fans puzzled by the sudden outburst.
Rather than responding with anger, Tosin Bee addressed the situation calmly. He clarified that Davido had confused him with someone else and mentioned that his mother had passed away years ago.
“Hello Mr David, I don’t know anything about the post you made. As a matter of fact, my mum went to be with the Lord eight years ago,” he explained. He called the incident a case of mistaken identity and expressed well wishes for the singer.
“I guess this is a case of mistaken identity. So sorry you had to deal with this, but my prayers are with you. I love you, brother,” Tosin Bee added.
Following the clarification, Davido acknowledged his mistake and issued a brief but sincere apology: “I apologise! My bad G,” he wrote.
