Afrobeats star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has indirectly reacted to the ongoing controversy surrounding claims that he fathered a young girl identified as Anu Adeleke.
The singer’s reaction came shortly after his father, billionaire businessman Dr Deji Adeleke, addressed the issue publicly and presented what he described as conclusive DNA evidence.
Rather than issuing a personal statement, Davido reposted the full video of his father’s press briefing on his Instagram story. Many observers viewed the gesture as a quiet show of support for his father’s explanation, while deliberately avoiding direct involvement in the controversy.
During a media briefing in Lagos on Wednesday, January 21, Dr Adeleke revealed that a detailed DNA test carried out in South Africa confirmed that Davido is not the child’s biological father. He dismissed claims that the test results were manipulated, stressing that both he and the girl’s mother personally retrieved the documents.
The elder Adeleke also accused controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo of allegedly impersonating the child on Instagram. He claimed she was responsible for posts demanding another DNA test and spreading damaging allegations against the Adeleke family.
Describing the alleged actions as malicious, Dr Adeleke stated that the impersonation significantly fueled the online backlash and misinformation surrounding the matter.
Instead of further addressing the allegations, Davido appeared to shift focus back to his career. Shortly after sharing the press conference clip, the singer promoted upcoming dates for his ongoing 5IVE Alive world tour on his Instagram story.
