Comfort Emmanson Freed as Lagos Court Dismisses All Charges Against Her

  • Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge after the police formally applied to withdraw the case.

On Wednesday, the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, discharged Comfort Emmanson, the passenger previously accused of disorderly conduct and assault on an Ibom Air flight.

Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge after the police formally applied to withdraw the case.

Emmanson had earlier pleaded not guilty to allegations of disrupting the flight’s peace, assaulting a crew member, and engaging in conduct likely to cause a public disturbance.

At the hearing, Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court that both the complainant and the airline were no longer interested in pursuing the matter, following directives from police authorities.

The magistrate granted the application and ordered her immediate release.
