Catholic Priest Slams Benue Governor for Blocking Obi’s IDP Visit, Now Seeking FG Help on Insecurity

Catholic priest Fr. Kelvin Ugwu has called out Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Alia, for blocking Peter Obi from visiting IDP camps in April, yet now seeking federal help to tackle insecurity in the state.

Fr. Ugwu criticized Alia for blaming the Federal Government while failing to act, questioning why security forces could block Obi’s visit but can’t stop killings. He argued the governor should take responsibility for protecting lives.

He also reacted to a viral video of cows being escorted by security agents, pointing out the irony that livestock gets protection while citizens remain vulnerable.
