A casket maker has reportedly died after visiting a female friend at a guest house in Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to reports, the incident occurred over the weekend at a facility in the Kukwaba area, said to operate as both a guest house and a brothel. The deceased was alleged to have gone there to meet the woman but collapsed before leaving the premises.

Sources said the woman alerted the hotel manager after the man slumped. The manager reportedly contacted the Nigeria Police Force through the Kubwa Police Division. Officers who arrived at the scene rushed him to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

When journalists visited the deceased’s residence opposite the NNPC junction in Kubwa, family members were said to be unavailable as they had reportedly traveled with his remains to his home state of Cross River for burial.

Police sources disclosed that the female friend, the hotel manager, and the hotel owner were invited for questioning and later released after providing statements. The deceased’s family also requested and obtained the release of his body.

Meanwhile, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kubwa, CSP Paul Lazarus, stated that he was not yet fully briefed on the matter but promised to investigate and provide further details.
