Social media commentator, Daniel Regha, has sparked reactions after labeling Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy as an “upcoming musician.”

Regha made the controversial statement during an appearance on Doyin’s Corner, a podcast hosted by former BBNaija housemate, Doyinsola.

Explaining his stance, he stated that Burna Boy cannot yet be ranked alongside music heavyweights like Wizkid and Davido, as the singer emerged in the industry much later than the two. He further emphasized that every artist has their own category, and in his opinion, Burna Boy still falls into the “upcoming” bracket compared to his predecessors.

Daniel Regha said in part …

“When these artists were popping up, Burna was nowhere to be found. Burna had his own group of people that popped the same time with him. There is a set for everybody. It’s like putting 2Face, Wizkid and Davido. It doesn’t make any sense. Because 2Face literally surpassed all of them.”

@Speaktruth_x: “What delegated Olamide was the fact that he retired early to focus on blowing his record label artists, there was a time in this country that olamide would have at least 3 hits in 5 months. And then the big 3 used to be wizkid Davido olamide”

@king_audacity: “This is the same person that condemns and criticizes others for making “foolish and disrespectful statements”.

Yet …he’s the chief of foolish statements”
