Following the release of his latest album No Sign of Weakness, Burna Boy took to Instagram Stories with a cryptic message that quickly ignited reactions online. He wrote:
“The fact that everyone has a different favorite song on No Sign of Weakness is exactly what I aimed for, and it already happened on day one. That’s what a real album should be. An album isn’t just a single. No Sign of Weakness out now!”
Although he didn’t mention anyone by name, fans and followers wasted no time speculating. Many linked his remarks to Davido’s fifth studio album 5ive, which has received a mixed response from both critics and fans.
Some listeners argue that the success of 5ive relies heavily on just one track With You featuring Omah Lay prompting online users to suggest that Burna Boy’s post was a subtle critique.
“If you take ‘With You’ off the album, there’s nothing left,” one fan commented on X (formerly Twitter). Another added, “Burna’s right. Albums need depth, not just one standout track. No shade, but 5ive felt rushed.”
