Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has formally resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor announced this to state house correspondents today Tuesday, June 16 after meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He did not disclose which party he will be joining next. There are indications he might be joining the PDP.
Obaseki is in a running battle with his predecessor and current National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomole.
His hope of seeking re-election on the platform of the party was dashed last week after he was disqualified from participating in Edo APC’s governorship primaries slated for June 22, 2020.
