Bridesmaids Stranded After Groom Allegedly Refuses to Pay Hotel Bill After Wedding in Anambra

  • A wedding MC has recounted a disturbing experience at an Anambra wedding where the groom allegedly refused to pay for the bridesmaids’ accommodation after the event.
  • The ladies, who travelled from Delta State, were reportedly left stranded and vulnerable late at night after being asked to vacate the hotel.
  • The MC condemned the act as irresponsible and unsafe, urging couples to plan weddings within their means and treat their bridal teams with care.

A wedding MC has shared a troubling incident from a ceremony in Anambra State, where the groom allegedly refused to pay for the bridesmaids’ accommodation after the event.

According to the MC, the bridesmaids travelled from a polytechnic in Delta State to attend their friend’s wedding, arriving a day early for the bridal shower. However, after the event ended around 7 p.m., the groom reportedly ordered everyone to vacate the hotel, insisting he wouldn’t extend their stay.

“I was shocked. The groom was shouting that he wouldn’t pay for the rooms again,” the MC said. “How do you expect young ladies who travelled that far to return to Delta State by 7 p.m., knowing how unsafe Nigerian roads are?”

He described the situation as “unacceptable and disheartening,” revealing that some groomsmen took advantage of it. “The groomsmen that had rooms were saying, ‘If you’re going to sleep in my room, I go touch you o.’ That is shameful and dangerous,” he said.

The MC further lamented, “Why are people wicked to asho ebi girls? If you can’t take care of your bridal train, don’t invite them at all.”

Advising couples to plan responsibly, he added, “If you don’t have the financial capacity to accommodate people, use your family members or cousins as asho ebi girls.”

The viral post has since drawn mixed reactions, with many Nigerians criticising couples who prioritise showiness over proper hospitality.
