Bolt Driver Sparks Reactions After Seizing Passenger’s Wig Over Unpaid Fare

  • A Bolt driver in Abuja has sparked online reactions after claiming he seized a female passenger’s wig when she delayed paying for her ride.
  • The driver said he waited over 15 minutes for payment before taking the wig as collateral and leaving, asking her to contact him when she is ready to pay.

A ride-hailing driver in Abuja has sparked debate online after sharing how he handled a dispute with a passenger over payment for a trip.

The driver, who said he works with Bolt, claimed he picked up a female passenger in the city and drove her to her destination. According to him, the passenger asked for his account number to transfer the fare after the trip ended.

However, the driver said the payment did not arrive even after waiting for more than 15 minutes. Narrating the incident, he said:

“Last night in Abuja, I picked up a lady somewhere in Abuja. When we got to her destination, she asked for my account number, which I gave her immediately. I waited for more than 15 minutes but didn’t receive the payment.”

He added that the passenger later explained that the person she came to visit was not answering her calls.

The driver said he had already ended the ride and received another booking. He then decided to collect the passenger’s wig before leaving the scene.

“She then told me the person she came to see was not picking her calls. I had already ended the ride and another customer had booked me, so I collected her wig and drove off. She has my number, when she’s ready, she should come and pay.”

The story has since generated reactions on social media, with many users debating whether the driver’s action was justified.
