- Bloody Civilian, a singer and producer, has expressed regret over not using TikTok at the beginning of her career.
- The singer attributed her initial hesitation to her “too cool” personality, which hindered her from fully utilizing the platform’s virality earlier.

Nigerian singer and music producer Bloody Civilian has candidly admitted that one of her biggest career regrets was overlooking the potential of TikTok during the early stages of her journey.
Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) account, the artist explained that her reluctance to embrace the platform stemmed from her trying to maintain a “too cool” persona, which she now believes cost her valuable exposure.
“My biggest regret was being too cool for TikTok at the beginning of my career, God punish steeze” she wrote, humorously criticizing her past mindset.
In recent years, TikTok has become a game-changer in the music industry, especially for Nigerian artists. The platform has propelled several songs and careers to global recognition — most notably CKay’s Love Nwantiti, which went viral in 2021, long after its original release in 2019.
Other artists, including Skales and newcomer Chella, have also benefited from the app’s influence, proving its power in reviving and boosting music careers.
Bloody Civilian’s honest reflection highlights how embracing digital trends early on can play a critical role in an artist’s success in today’s music landscape.
