Nigerian LGBTQ+ rights activist Bisi Alimi has criticized reality TV star Pere Egbi over his recent comments about the LGBTQ+ community.
The controversy began after Pere reacted to a post on X by a US-based pastor who argued that being LGBTQ+ is not a sin and that the Bible does not explicitly describe it as such. The cleric also stated that individuals cannot repent from a sexual orientation because it is not something a person chooses.
Responding to the pastor’s post, Pere maintained that being queer is a sin like other sins mentioned in the Bible. He further argued that God did not create a man for another man or a woman for another woman.
