Former Big Brother Naija star, Pere Egbi, has shared his thoughts on the impact of cyberbullying.
The reality TV star revealed that a friend of his recently took their own life due to online harassment. Pere made the disclosure on his X account on Monday, though he did not clarify whether the tragic event occurred in Nigeria or in the United States, where he currently resides.
He wrote, “I lost a friend today due to online bullying. Committed suicide. Smh. RIP champ. It is well.”
This comes shortly after Pere stirred debate by stating that the South African film industry surpasses Nollywood in areas such as filmmaking, storytelling, and professional work ethics. He noted that Nigeria’s film sector still has lessons to learn from South Africa.
Pere has appeared in and produced several Nollywood and international films, including Gem of the Rain Forest, Pound of Flesh, and Blood Vessel.
In other news… Festus Ojo, son of Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, has joined in celebrating his sister, Priscilla, and her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, following the arrival of their baby boy.
It was earlier reported on Sunday night that the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Prince Raheem Ayomide Mkambala.
Sharing the joyful news, Iyabo Ojo posted a picture on Instagram from the delivery room, featuring herself, Priscilla, and the newborn, while proudly announcing her new status as a grandmother.
