Controversial comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Deeone, has sparked heated discussions following his candid remarks in a recent interview.
Reflecting on his time in the BBNaija house, Deeone described his participation as a regrettable decision that, in his view, did little to propel his career forward. He argued that the common perception that the show guarantees lasting fame and financial stability is misleading, noting that many former housemates now face economic difficulties, with some struggling to meet basic needs. According to him, the initial buzz from the platform quickly fades, leaving contestants to deal with the tough realities of life afterward.
Turning his attention to music stars, Deeone criticised Davido, labelling him a “content creator” rather than a true musician, and insisting he cannot be compared to Wizkid, whom he called Davido’s “boss and mentor.” He claimed that the internet’s leveling effect was the reason Davido and Peller once worked together.
Deeone also took jabs at fellow ex-housemates. He claimed to have encouraged Whitemoney to be more outspoken online but dismissed his musical abilities, saying his only real talent lies in cooking jollof rice. Regarding Kiddwaya, Deeone alleged that his public image of affluence is exaggerated, accusing him of projecting a false lifestyle.
Speaking on Phyna, he controversially stated that the only form of “deal” they could have would be of a romantic nature, bluntly referring to it in transactional terms.
Despite his criticisms of others, Deeone maintained that he enjoys strong popularity among Nigerian youths, insisting that many appreciate and support his comedic work.
