It was a night of mixed emotions on Big Brother Naija Season 10 as Sunday’s live eviction show took an unexpected and somber turn.
While addressing viewers, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced the death of Ayotunde Elegbede, a valued member of the production crew. Ebuka explained that the organisers had been informed of the tragic news by Elegbede’s family earlier in the day, and he extended condolences on behalf of the BBNaija team, acknowledging Elegbede’s significant contributions behind the scenes.
The announcement came shortly after the evening’s eviction rounds. Danboskid became the first housemate to leave the competition this season, prompting a heartfelt farewell from fellow contestant Zita, who embraced him before the other housemates gave him a traditional “three gbosa” cheer.
The second eviction saw Ibifubara exit the show, both departures having been determined by audience votes. The live voting chart revealed that Denari narrowly avoided eviction this week.
Although Season 10 has only just begun, Sunday’s episode proved that BBNaija remains unpredictable both within and beyond the walls of the house.
Earlier in July, Danboskid and Zita made headlines after a clip of them under the duvet surfaced online, showing the pair cuddling and sharing kisses just three days into the season. The video quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), sparking a frenzy among fans.
