Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has appointed Chinese national Li Zhensheng as the state’s Economic Adviser.
The announcement came during the signing of an MoU with the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre, aimed at boosting investment, infrastructure, and multi-sector collaboration in Bauchi.
“As part of the deal, a Bauchi State Representative Office will be established in China to oversee project implementation and ensure timely delivery,” the governor stated.
Mohammed said the partnership aligns with the China-Nigeria diplomatic framework under Presidents Xi Jinping and Bola Tinubu to strengthen ties nationally and locally.
“This agreement is not just about infrastructure—it’s about transforming lives. We are opening Bauchi to the world,” he said, adding that the initiative would boost foreign direct investment, create jobs, enhance skills, modernize key sectors, and improve the state’s visibility on the global stage.
In his remarks, Zhensheng, who chairs the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre, reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to supporting Bauchi’s economic transformation.
“We are committed to helping Bauchi achieve sustainable growth, modern infrastructure, and improved livelihoods,” he said.
