Chadwick Boseman set to receive a posthumous star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Chadwick Boseman will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.
The late “Black Panther” star was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame of 2024 as part of the motion films category on Monday.
Boseman died of colon cancer at the age of 43 in 2020. The legendary actor had a global impact by bringing “Black Panther” to life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as portraying Black legends Jackie Robinson and James Brown on film.
According to their official website, E.M. Stuart, volunteer president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, founded the Walk of Fame in 1958.
This year, the Hollywood Walk of Fame honored another late legend by installing a star for Tupac Shakur, who was chosen as an honoree in 2013. The award was accepted by the rapper’s sister, Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, while radio personality Big Boy emceed the event.
Shakur received the 2,758th star on the Walk of Fame.
Michelle Yeoh, Gwen Stefani, and Eugene Levy all received Walk of Fame recognition.
Other stars in the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s 2024 class included newly-minted Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, Andre Romell Young (“Dr. Dre”), Kerry Washington, and Chris Pine, in addition to Boseman, who was characterized as a “beloved actor” during the live stream.
