- Dino Melaye, former Senator from Kogi West, asserts that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is feeling anxious as the 2027 general elections approach.
- Despite controlling 31 governorships across the country, the APC is resistant to adopting electronic transmission of election results.

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is showing signs of unease as the 2027 general elections approach.
Melaye highlighted that, despite the party’s control of 31 governorships nationwide, it remains opposed to implementing electronic transmission of election results.
In a post on X on Tuesday, he mocked the ruling party, suggesting that its reluctance reflects insecurity and a lack of confidence. He noted that even with widespread dominance, the APC seems hesitant to support measures that could improve transparency in elections.
“APC is doing e-registration for members, but doesn’t want e-transmission of results. With 31 governors, dem still dey fear,” he wrote.
Melaye further implied that the Senate’s refusal to back proposed electoral reforms points to deeper issues within the party, hinting at internal instability and the need for electoral integrity.
“Implosion is imminent and explosion is guaranteed. End of the road. Votes must count,” he added.
His remarks come amid rising protests in Abuja, where demonstrators have criticized the Senate for not amending the Electoral Act to allow real-time electronic reporting of election outcomes.
