Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has revealed the surprising reason she stepped back from acting — she was placed on a ₦1 million weekly allowance by a mystery benefactor.
Speaking on Curiosity Made Me Ask, a podcast hosted by Bae U Barbie, Nkechi explained that the anonymous gesture came at a time when she wasn’t earning much from movie roles.
The generous weekly support, she said, made her rethink the hustle in Nollywood.
“Someone anonymously put me on a ₦1 million weekly salary because I wasn’t getting paid enough for movie roles — that’s why I took a break from acting. I can’t shoot a movie and I might not even make up to ₦1 million profit from it,” the actress stated.
When asked if the benefactor remains anonymous, Nkechi smiled but chose not to spill the details.
“It’s not your business,” she said.
