Anambra Makes History: Queens Clinch Miss International & Miss Universe Nigeria 2025

Anambra State has cemented its place in Nigeria’s pageant industry after two of its representatives claimed the country’s most prestigious beauty titles for 2025.

Faith Ekwebenam was crowned Miss International Nigeria 2025 after outshining contestants from Lagos, Bauchi, Edo, Cross River, and Nasarawa at the grand finale held on Sunday. She will go on to represent Nigeria at the 63rd Miss International pageant in Tokyo, Japan, scheduled for November 27.

In a separate competition hosted in Lagos, Onyinyechi Basil secured the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 crown, triumphing over Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, in a highly competitive final. Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, also earned top spots as part of the final four.

With both victories, Anambra now holds Nigeria’s two most coveted international beauty titles an achievement experts have described as “historic” and “unmatched.”

As Ekwebenam and Basil prepare to showcase their talents on the global stage later this year, many Nigerians are optimistic about the country’s chances of making a strong mark internationally.
