Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, famously known as 2Face, has shared his optimism about the global future of Afrobeats, dismissing concerns that the genre might lose its international appeal.

In a recent conversation with Yaw on Wazobia FM Lagos, the “African Queen” singer insisted that Afrobeats remains strong and will continue to thrive worldwide.

He emphasized that Nigeria’s abundance of young, talented musicians guarantees the genre’s longevity, describing emerging artists as the driving force behind Afrobeats’ ongoing success.

2Face said, “Afrobeats can never die. If you listen to some of the young Afrobeats artists now, you will agree with me that the genre is in safe hands.

“Recently, one of the young artists, Fola, remade my song ‘If Love Is A Crime.’ I really loved it. Soft, smooth vocals. It is amazing. The present crops of artists have special flows. I love their styles.”

In other news… A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to express her frustration over the country’s rising cost of living, highlighting how it has impacted her personal finances.

In a heartfelt post, she said:

“We’re gradually adapting to hardship and we’re not loud about it. I no longer have savings because I have to spend for fuel. Cost of living is about to cost the living. Is this the mandate we’re supposed to blindly follow? And there’s people supporting this mandate.”

Her comments reflect growing concerns among citizens struggling with daily expenses, particularly the rising cost of fuel and essential goods.
