Adamawa Governor, Fintiri Dumps PDP for APC in Statewide Broadcast

  • Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has defected from the PDP to the APC, citing the developmental interest of his state.
  • His move strengthens the ruling party’s dominance ahead of the 2027 elections.

Ahmadu Fintiri has formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Fintiri announced his defection during a statewide broadcast on Friday, confirming that members of his cabinet and other PDP officials in Adamawa State have moved with him to the APC.

The governor said his decision was made in what he described as the developmental interest of the people of Adamawa State. According to him, aligning with the ruling party would better position the state for growth and access to federal opportunities.

His move significantly strengthens the APC’s dominance across the country, making him the 30th serving governor to join the ruling party. The development further consolidates the APC’s control over the majority of Nigeria’s states.

The defection follows weeks of speculation, especially after several lawmakers in the Adamawa State House of Assembly resigned from the PDP amid internal party crises.

In other news…. Nigerian social media personality King Mitchy has broken down in tears in a video making the rounds online, opening up about the intense backlash she has received amid her ongoing clash with activist VeryDarkMan.

The emotional moment comes after days of heated exchanges on social media linked to VeryDarkMan. The tension reportedly began when Mitchy publicly questioned him over delays in putting donated NGO funds to use. She pointed out that she was able to complete a school renovation within six days, suggesting that similar urgency should be applied to the funds in question.

Her comments, however, sparked criticism from many Nigerians online, with several users dragging and faulting her for speaking out.

In the viral clip, Mitchy expressed frustration over what she described as overwhelming hostility from the public. She maintained that she has consistently supported people in need through charitable gestures and personal financial assistance, often putting others before herself.

According to her, it is hurtful to now face harsh judgment and attacks simply for urging VeryDarkMan to take action and deliver on expectations.

Her words …

“I wish i can just get sn!p€r, so this pa!n can go away, with all my efforts, It’s just like they forgot everything I have done, everybody is attvvk!ng me as if I’ve never done anything. Every morning I wake up go give people money, help them Comot from slum. Even when I’m not fine I still go out to do it.
