Adamawa Gov Gifts Super Falcons Coach Justin Madugu House and ₦50M After WAFCON Triumph

  • Governor Ahmadu Fintiri praised Madugu’s achievement as a moment of pride for the state and the nation.

Coach Justine Madugu has been honoured by the Adamawa State Government with ₦50 million and a three-bedroom bungalow for leading the Super Falcons to their 10th WAFCON title.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri praised Madugu’s achievement as a moment of pride for the state and the nation.

“I’m overwhelmed by what is happening today. I thank God and the government of Adamawa State for this recognition,” he stated.

Madugu added, “When I took up this role, I saw it as a challenge to prove that northerners, too, can lead at the highest levels. It was a personal mission to leave a legacy that will inspire respect for our state.”

In other news…. Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has firmly denied claims that his administration has paid or negotiated with bandits, stating that such accusations contradict his lifelong advocacy for justice.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, the governor said, “You cannot claim to be defending the poor or fighting for justice while giving money to those who terrorize communities.”

Governor Sani explained that his government’s focus has been on supporting victims of violence rather than compensating the perpetrators. He also noted that insecurity in the North-West is primarily fueled by economic issues, unlike the ideologically driven Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East.

He said: “Looking at security issues we just have to sit down and analyse what are the symptoms and the drivers of insecurity. I agree with you that Boko Haram is more of an ideological issue. But when you are talking about insurgency in the north West it’s an economic matter. That’s why when we came in, I said, look, we can’t resolve it with kinetic approach only.

“When I started, a lot of people were criticising me saying ‘you are trying to pay bandits’. But I told them a man who fought for justice and for the downtrodden can’t sit down with the bandit and pay him.

“So they were surprised only two weeks ago when I came up with my own programme, where I gave houses to the victims of insurgency instead of compensating or giving anything to the bandits. I haven’t given one naira to the bandits but I have built houses for the victims of banditry in Kaduna state.”
