Veteran Nollywood actor Richards Oguntimehin, popularly known as Don Richard, has made an emotional appeal to Nigerians for financial assistance as he battles a kidney-related illness.
In a heartfelt video shared on Tuesday, July 29, by actress and talk show host Biola Bayo, the actor revealed the toll his health condition has taken on him and his family.
According to Don Richard, he has exhausted all his resources on treatment, including selling his car, which he purchased for ₦1.5 million, as well as other personal properties.
“When my wife heard about my health, she cried. I told her, ‘Another man is a lucky man,’ and begged her to take care of our twins,” he said in the video. “She later sold our house and car to fund my treatment. I have nothing left now.”
Biola Bayo, who also shared the actor’s bank details for donations, explained in her caption that Don Richard has been struggling with kidney disease for some time.
This is not the first time the actor has opened up about his health. He previously revealed that his medical challenges began unexpectedly after he gave up smoking and drinking.
The emotional video of Don Richard appealing for support has since drawn sympathy from fans and colleagues online.
