- Solomon Buchi disagrees with Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s defense of President Bola Tinubu regarding insecurity in Nigeria.
- The disagreement arose after Adeboye stated that the president’s role is to oversee security agencies rather than engage in combat.
- Adeboye emphasized that it is unrealistic to expect the president to lead troops in military operations.

Life coach and social commentator Solomon Buchi has publicly disagreed with Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s recent remarks defending President Bola Tinubu amid growing concerns over insecurity across Nigeria.
The debate followed comments by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), who stated that the president’s responsibility is to direct the nation’s security agencies and not personally engage in combat operations. Pastor Adeboye noted that Nigerians should not expect the commander-in-chief to put on a military uniform and lead troops on the battlefield.
Responding in a video posted on his Instagram page on June 30, Buchi argued that leadership involves more than issuing directives. According to him, ultimate responsibility for the country’s security situation rests with the president.
“There is a lot that can be said, but with all due respect, I just want to say this: the responsibility falls on the president, on the leader. That when things go wrong, they have to hold him accountable,” he said.
Buchi questioned who should be held responsible for security failures if not the nation’s leader, stressing that security agencies and top government officials ultimately answer to the presidency.
“And if we don’t blame the leader when things go south, who are we meant to blame? If we don’t blame Tinubu, who are we meant to blame?” he asked.
The commentator also referenced reports of schoolchildren and teachers still being held captive in Oyo State, expressing concern over what he described as inadequate communication from the federal government during periods of national distress.
He argued that citizens often find reassurance when leaders address the public promptly during difficult situations, but claimed that such responses have been lacking.
“These things happen, but there is a sense of communication and consolation when you hear the president speak about these things in due time, as it’s happening. But no, he just goes about his normal business,” Buchi stated.
While noting that he has previously defended Pastor Adeboye and the RCCG against criticism, Buchi said he could not support the cleric’s position on this issue. He also appealed to church members and supporters not to attack individuals who hold opposing views regarding the pastor’s comments.
