In a surprising development that has drawn attention across the Nigerian music scene, Alaye Piper, who was once known as a close associate and childhood friend of Wizkid, has issued a public apology to the star.
In a heartfelt message directed at the singer, Piper said he had taken time to reflect on his past actions and felt the need to seek forgiveness for the pain he may have caused.
According to him, he now accepts full responsibility for his behaviour and the impact it had on their relationship. He also acknowledged Wizkid as someone who was consistently kind and supportive during their friendship.

“I’ve been reflecting a lot lately, and I felt it was important to apologise for how I wronged you. I take full responsibility for my actions and the hurt I caused. You were always a great friend to me kind, supportive, and genuinely good,” Piper stated.
He further expressed that he misses their friendship, although he is not necessarily expecting a reconciliation between them.
The apology has also reignited memories of their reported fallout in 2017, a period when Piper was accused of indirectly shading Wizkid while showing support for Wizkid’s then-rival, Davido.
The renewed attention has once again brought their past tension back into public discussion, with fans revisiting the events that led to their strained relationship.
