Fresh controversy has emerged following the burial of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, as a family member has publicly raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding his death and burial.

In a statement shared online, the relative alleged that members of the Ekubo family were not informed about the actor’s passing when it occurred and were denied the opportunity to view his body after it was released from the mortuary.

According to the post, the family is still seeking answers regarding the cause of death and claims they have not received any official report explaining the circumstances that led to his sudden passing.

The relative also questioned why attendees were reportedly asked to wear white attire to the burial ceremony.

According to him, the family did not approve of presenting the event as a celebration of life for a man whose life was allegedly cut short at the age of 40.

He further stated that the actor’s biological mother and only sibling are yet to receive a formal explanation regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.

In a follow-up comment, the family member insisted that the post was not intended to generate attention or disrespect the late actor.

He wrote:

“I have never been a social media person, nor do I intend to become one. I am not here to chase clout.”

The relative explained that the family had attempted to resolve the matter privately but claimed their efforts had produced no answers.

“All the family is asking for is accountability regarding the circumstances surrounding the untimely death of our own.”
