Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has spoken out after a court order reportedly revoked his bail, leading to his transfer to Kuje Correctional Centre.
Addressing supporters before being taken into custody, Sowore said he was fully prepared for the development and had already packed a prison bag in anticipation of the court’s decision.
According to him, the experience would not deter his activism, as he intends to continue advocating for Nigerians regardless of his location.
“The court as you’re all aware of has laid an order when I was absent last week to revoke my bail and now I’m to be sent to Kuje pris0n. I came prepared and I’m going to pris0n to keep mobilizing our people. I even brought my pris0n bag cos somebody must make sacrifices that will benefit this country.”
The activist maintained that personal sacrifices are sometimes necessary in the pursuit of social and political change, adding that his commitment to the cause remains unchanged.
