Reports have emerged suggesting that the late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo may be expecting a posthumous child with his wife, Anwuli Amakom Ekubo.
The development was hinted at by the traditional ruler of Arochukwu, the actor’s hometown in Abia State.
According to earlier reports, Alex Ekubo’s remains arrived in Arochukwu on Wednesday, June 17, ahead of a wake-keep held in preparation for his funeral on June 18.
During the procession, the convoy transporting the actor’s body made a stop at the palace of the Eze Aro of Arochukwu. The monarch offered prayers over the casket and spoke about the future of the late actor’s family.
While praying, the traditional ruler asked God to preserve Alex Ekubo’s lineage. He also stated that information had reached him indicating that the actor’s wife was pregnant. The monarch subsequently prayed for the unborn child, expressing hope that the baby would grow to surpass the achievements of his well-known father.
As of the time of this report, neither the Ekubo family nor any official representative has confirmed the pregnancy claim. Nevertheless, the monarch’s remarks have sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing hope and optimism over the possibility of the late actor leaving behind a child.
