Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has spoken emotionally about the pain she is going through following the death of her husband, Michael Ndika, revealing that she wishes she had died in his place.
GistLover reports that the music star made her feelings known via a series of posts on her Instagram Story, weeks after she first announced his passing on May 20.
Although the circumstances surrounding Ndika’s death have not been made public, funeral arrangements released by the family indicated that a service of songs was held on June 4, followed by his burial on June 5.
In her recent posts, Niniola also shared pictures from their court wedding in the United States, reflecting on the emptiness she has experienced since his passing.
She described her late husband as the one who gave her life true meaning and admitted that coping with the loss has been extremely painful.
The singer further expressed that she would have endured any personal suffering if it meant keeping him alive, adding that no sacrifice would have been too great to save him.
Her words…
“I cannot live without Michael. God, you could’ve taken my kidney, an arm or a leg. You should’ve even taken me instead, but that one person that made my life worth it, you took away from me,” she wrote.
“We did not disturb anybody, just living lives on our own terms. What a jealous God you truly are because you had the power to spare him but decided to flex muscles. Kukumo, finish what you started na, I’m ready.”
