“If You Don’t Work With Women, You’re Not Ready to Grow” – Tobi Bakre Credits Women for His Success

  • Tobi Bakre says working with women has been key to his growth in the entertainment industry.
  • He argues that refusing to collaborate with women can limit creativity and professional success.

Actor and media personality Tobi Bakre has shared his thoughts on collaboration and gender in the workplace, crediting women for playing a significant role in his professional growth in the entertainment industry.

Speaking on a recent episode of Mentality With Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Bakre said he believes individuals who are unwilling to work with women may be limiting their own potential for growth and success.

“If you don’t want to work with a woman, I don’t believe you’re ready to grow in life. Women are so powerful. Thank God for women. In my industry particularly, I have worked with women and I’ve worked more with women,” he said.

He added that he does not view professional relationships through the lens of gender, stressing that his focus has always been on productivity and creative output.

“I don’t see gender. For me, work is work because I came into the industry with the thirst to get stuff done. Let’s get the work done. Let’s shoot the shots. Let’s create. If I want to jump, how high can I jump?” he stated.

According to him, many of the women he has worked with embraced this collaborative mindset, creating an environment where ideas are shared freely without ego or bias.

“A lot of the women I worked with welcomed that mentality with open arms. There was no ego,” he said.

Bakre also noted that several female directors he has collaborated with actively encourage teamwork and idea exchange to improve creative outcomes.

“A lot of the directors I’ve worked with would say, ‘You have an idea? What’s your idea? Okay, this is what I have. Let’s balance it. Let’s push it together,’” he added.
