“We’ll Raise Money Ourselves” – VDM Gives FG Four-Day Deadline Over Oyo Kidnapped Victims

  • VeryDarkMan has criticized the government’s handling of the kidnapping of teachers and schoolchildren in Oyo State, suggesting that Nigerians may have to raise funds themselves if authorities fail to secure the victims’ release.
  • His comments followed the circulation of a distressing video from one of the abducted victims, who pleaded with authorities to rescue them through negotiation rather than force, further intensifying public concern over the incident.

Social media commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) has reacted to a recent video released by kidnapped victims in Oyo State, expressing frustration over what he described as the government’s slow response to the situation.

In a video shared online, the activist warned that Nigerians may be forced to take matters into their own hands if authorities fail to secure the release of the victims within the next few days.

According to him:

“If in the next four days the federal government are not able to bring these people out, we’ll have no other option than to do the first crowdfunding to get them out.”

VDM further stated that citizens may have to negotiate directly with the kidnappers if the government continues to delay intervention.

“We’ll be the ones to negotiate with the terrorists.”

His comments come after a heartbreaking video of one of the abducted victims, reportedly the principal among those kidnapped in Oriire community, Oyo State, surfaced online.

In the emotional clip, the victim appealed to authorities to come to their rescue and urged the government not to deploy armed force but instead pursue dialogue and negotiations to secure their freedom.

The kidnapping incident has continued to generate concern across the country, with many Nigerians calling on security agencies and the government to intensify efforts toward the safe rescue of the victims.

VDM’s remarks have also sparked debate online, with some Nigerians supporting his call for urgent action, while others questioned the idea of citizens directly negotiating with kidnappers.

As of the time of this report, authorities have yet to provide an official update on the rescue of the abducted victims.
