Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, has sparked reactions online after publicly revealing details about his failed marriage and new relationship.
The controversy began after Bashir responded to comments on X about a woman believed to be his new partner.
Responding to a user who asked if the woman was Nupe, Bashir wrote:
“Yes she’s from Bida and yes I divorced my first wife, (I have no time for GenZ wahala). The difference is clear, I had no clue Nupe women treat their husbands like emperors. Loving it.”
In another post, he confirmed his marital status, saying:
“I’m not married yet. I am divorced”
After receiving criticism over the public nature of his comments, Bashir later clarified that the woman is his fiancée.
“She’s my fiancé. All of you can rest now.”
The politician’s son also reacted humorously after being called a “simp” online.
“Lmao. I can’t even argue or counter back. However, if you were able to see what I see, touch & feel you would also be a simp my brother.”
