Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called for unity within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after emerging as the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking after the primary election, Atiku stated that no aspirant was defeated in the contest and urged party members to unite against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him:
“No One Was Defeated in the ADC Presidential Primary, we are one party and have to unite. We pledge to work to pull our country and people out of the destructive grip of a c0rrupt, incompetent APC government. The cruelty of Tinubu’s government must stop.”
His statement quickly generated mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians debating whether Atiku represents a genuine alternative to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC administration.
Reacting to the statement, Kingkosec wrote:
“The worst mistake Nigerians will do is to vote this man in, Tinubu will be a saint.”
Holyman expressed frustration with the current government, saying:
“Nigerians are really tired of the hardship and poor governance under this APC administration. Time to come together and offer a real alternative in 2027”
Sporting Pro 🏆 questioned what an Atiku presidency would look like if Labour Party figure Peter Obi does not emerge, writing:
“But let’s be realistic, IF Obi don’t get that seat and Atiku does. How do you visualize the outcome?”
