- Mr Jollof has declared full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, describing the president as “their in-law” because of his wife’s ties to his community.

Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Mr Jollof, has stirred reactions online after publicly declaring support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
In a viral video making rounds on social media, Mr Jollof stated that he and members of his community would support Tinubu “with full chest,” insisting that the president would remain in office until 2031.
According to him, their support is partly because Tinubu is considered “an in-law” to the community through his wife.
“We’re Supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Re-Election In 2027 With Our Full Chest. Tinubu Is Our In-Law Because His Wife Is a Chief Here And One Of Our Own. Tinubu Is Leaving Office In 2031,” he said.
The statement quickly triggered mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians criticizing the comedian for allegedly prioritizing personal or tribal affiliations over national issues such as insecurity, inflation, and economic hardship.
Reacting to the video, an X user identified as @ann_omatf wrote:
“Country first, not family first. Governance is not a marriage.”
Another user, @AngelEmypresh, said:
“No wonder VDM beat you… You dey support bad governance because Tinubu na your inlaw. You are really shameless.”
A different user, @Deesquare31, added:
“Lazarus has risen from the dead, is time to show support to a president who has nothing to show for 4 year.”
Some users also accused public figures of supporting politicians for personal gain rather than national interest.
“Not because he performed but where he married,” @chinenyeeee commented.
Others, however, defended Mr Jollof’s right to openly support any political candidate of his choice ahead of the 2027 elections.
