Nigerian relationship commentator Solomon Buchi has sparked reactions online after sharing his opinion about married men using Snapchat.

On Sunday, May 18, 2026, Buchi questioned the intentions of married men who are active on the platform, saying, “I can never understand why a married man is on Snapchat. What are you doing there? Whenever I see a married man who uses Snapchat regularly, I believe you’re cheating.”

He further stated that Snapchat has become widely associated with secret communication and explicit content sharing, adding that such behaviour often creates suspicion in relationships.

“One of the top activities that happens on that app is sending and receiving of nudes. How can you be active on Snapchat as a married person?” he added.

His comments quickly generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users agreeing with his concerns about trust and secrecy in relationships, while others argued that using a social media platform alone does not prove infidelity.

The discussion also reignited conversations about digital boundaries and relationship expectations in modern marriages, especially regarding disappearing messages and private chats often linked to Snapchat.

Similar debates surrounding Snapchat and relationship trust previously surfaced in 2023, when viral online discussions connected the platform to secret affairs and digital infidelity concerns among couples in Nigeria.

Although Buchi criticised the platform’s perception, he stressed that not every user engages in inappropriate behaviour, noting that the issue largely revolves around public perception and trust in relationships today.
