Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has clarified the reason behind selecting Davido to head the youth mobilisation unit of his re-election campaign.
According to him, the decision was made after Davido’s recent visit to Osun State, where he was warmly welcomed by his uncle and members of the political party.
Governor Adeleke, popularly called “Imole,” noted that Davido’s worldwide influence and his strong appeal among young people made him an ideal figure for the role. He added that the singer’s energy, popularity, and connection with the youth would play a key role in mobilising support across the state’s youthful population.
“Today, I warmly welcome my nephew and global music icon, David Adeleke (@davido) back home and into our campaign. A renowned mobiliser and supporter of our campaign in the past and now the Chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Council Committee for the 2026 Imole Campaign Council, David brings the energy, influence, and passion needed to mobilise and inspire our vibrant youth population.”
