Nigerian TV host and media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo has shared that getting married in his mid-twenties would have been a major mistake, as he was still in the process of discovering who he truly was.
Speaking in an interview with BBC News Pidgin, Chude recalled that he almost got married at 25 but decided to step back shortly before the wedding plans were finalised.
According to him, he later realised he wasn’t emotionally or mentally ready for the responsibilities that come with marriage, and rushing into it at that time would have conflicted with his personal growth journey.
Rather than going ahead with the decision, he said he turned to his faith for guidance during that period, which helped him manage his emotions and avoid making a choice he might have regretted.
He also explained that his spiritual journey played a key role in helping him process his struggles privately without placing pressure on those around him.
Beyond his personal life reflections, Chude spoke about his early rise in media and entrepreneurship, noting that his ambition started at a very young age.
By the age of 15, he had already written three books, one of which helped launch his career in media and youth-focused advocacy.
That early start eventually grew into the influential platforms he now leads, which continue to spark conversations across Africa.
