“My Computer Just Went Off!”- Outrage as Student Claims System Shut Down During JAMB Exam

  • A 2026 JAMB candidate has alleged that her exam was disrupted after her computer shut down mid-test, raising concerns about potential effects on her result.
  • According to her, the incident occurred unexpectedly, and efforts to get immediate assistance from the examination centre management did not resolve her concerns at the time.

A 2026 candidate of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has raised concerns after experiencing a technical issue during her examination.

In a statement shared online, the candidate recounted how her computer system allegedly shut down while she was still writing her exam, sparking fears about the impact on her final result.

“I don’t just understand the kind of bad system Nigeria has, because tell me why my computer suddenly went off while I was still writing my JAMB exam. Despite complaining to the management, they told me, ‘It will submit by itself,’” she said.

According to her, the incident occurred unexpectedly, and efforts to get immediate assistance from the examination centre management did not resolve her concerns at the time.

Her complaint has since drawn reactions on social media, with some users sharing similar experiences and others calling on JAMB to ensure stronger technical safeguards during computer-based tests.

My advice to anyone with friends or family currently in a JAMB situation is to encourage them to learn a skill while they wait for another opportunity.
