“Nicki Minaj had been following me on Instagram for 5 years without me knowing,” he said.

The singer explained that he eventually decided to reach out, a move that led to an unexpected response from the rapper.

“I finally sent her a DM, and to my shock, she replied asking for my number,” he added.

Davido disclosed that their exchange ultimately resulted in him sending her a track, which later developed into their collaboration.

“That’s how I sent her the song — which later became ‘Holy Ground’,” he said.

The song Holy Ground, featuring Nicki Minaj, went on to become one of the standout tracks from Davido’s album A Better Time, further cementing his international presence.
