“The Land Belongs to Us”- Alleged Landowners Challenge Obi Cubana’s Millennium City Project

  • Obi Cubana is facing allegations from individuals claiming ownership of land used for his Millennium City estate in Asaba.
  • Speaking on the matter, one of the claimants alleged that they were neither properly consulted nor adequately compensated before the land was sold.
  • The claimants accuse land grabbers of selling the property without proper title or consent.

Popular businessman Obi Cubana is currently facing controversy following claims by a group of individuals alleging ownership of the land used for his Millennium City estate project in Asaba, Delta State.

The individuals, who identified themselves as rightful owners of the land, accused the businessman of acquiring the property through questionable transactions involving third parties they described as land grabbers.

Speaking on the matter, one of the claimants alleged that they were neither properly consulted nor adequately compensated before the land was sold.

“Obi Cubana came to occupy our land but he didn’t tell us the quantity of land he want to buy but he want to offer us money. The land belong to us. They went and pay small amount of money to land grabbers. How can you sell land which you don’t have title and sell the land to Cubana at cheap rate?” the source said.

The dispute centers on allegations that the land was sold without proper title documentation and at a significantly low rate by individuals who may not have had legal authority over it.

As of the time of this report, Obi Cubana has not publicly responded to the allegations.

The sad truth is they’ll lie to the people that government are coming for the land so that the land owners will panic and sell it at a very cheaper rate

No individual owns acres of land. Such acres are owned by the community.

Buying land in Nigeria without a clear Title is just expensive gambling. Even a billionaire can’t bypass proper Due Diligence.
