- Primate Ayodele has claimed that Northern Nigeria will determine President Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term, downplaying the influence of South-West political mobilization.
- He further stressed what he described as the decisive role of the North in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has stirred political reactions after making strong remarks about the role of Northern Nigeria in determining the political future of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking during a recent address, the cleric emphasised that electoral outcomes in Nigeria are heavily influenced by the North, suggesting that President Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term would largely depend on the region’s decision.
According to him:
“Northerners have not started with Tinubu; they are the ones who will decide his future. One billion Yoruba cannot decide Tinubu’s future. That may be Tinubu will win if the North decides, and their decision is for him not to win.”
Primate Ayodele also dismissed the influence of political mobilization efforts in the South-West, stating that such strategies alone would not guarantee electoral victory.
“All this noise you are making in Yoruba come out with city boys, come out with any boys you want; city boys will not make you win.”
He further stressed what he described as the decisive role of the North in Nigeria’s political landscape.
“The North will decide Tinubu’s future for a second term after God. It’s the North.”

In a conversation with American media outlet The Fader, he shared his perspective on the division within the industry.
Omah Lay revealed that there was a period when he chose to unfollow the so-called Afrobeats “Big 3” Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy because he disagreed with their approach to leading the genre. “The Nigerian Afrobeats landscape is really divided. If you align with Davido, you’re on one side; if you align with Wizkid, you’re on the other,” he explained. “Back in 2024, I unfollowed Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido. I felt they were promoting a style for Afrobeats that had become outdated.”
Discussing his collaboration with Davido on the track With You, Omah Lay described the experience as organic and said it gave him a deeper appreciation for Davido’s character.
He also noted that Davido faces criticism due to his affluent background but emphasized that the DMW leader “has nothing to prove to anyone,” with his ambition and drive distinguishing him in the industry…
