Veteran Nollywood actor Davis Offor, best known for his iconic role as Clarus in the classic sitcom The New Masquerade, has reportedly passed away.

The news of his death was shared by fellow actor Tony Akposheri, who portrayed Zacky on the popular series.

On Tuesday, April 7, Akposheri took to Facebook to pay tribute, remembering Offor as not just a colleague but also a dear friend and brother whose vibrant personality brightened every room he entered.

In his post, Akposheri recalled spending time with Offor recently, which made the loss all the more poignant. “Today, my heart is heavy. Davis Offor, fondly known as Clarus from New Masquerade, is gone,” he wrote. He reflected on the moments they shared celebrating the New Year together, filled with laughter, memories, and hopeful discussions about the future.

“We stepped into the New Year together, laughing, sharing stories, and looking forward to the days ahead. Little did we know that time was already counting differently for you,” Akposheri added, highlighting the suddenness of the loss.

The tribute emphasized that Offor’s real-life warmth and optimism went far beyond his on-screen persona. Akposheri described him as a man whose humor, kindness, and presence drew people in naturally.

“You were more than just a familiar face on television. You were a friend, a brother, and someone whose warmth and energy could light up any space,” he wrote, admitting that coming to terms with the sudden passing is difficult.

“It’s hard to believe that the voice I heard not long ago is now a memory. It’s difficult to accept that someone so full of life can suddenly become a story we recount.”
