A Nigerian lady has drawn attention online after claiming she regularly gets complimentary rides from Bolt drivers in Uyo.
In a video that went viral on X (formerly Twitter), she contrasted her interactions with drivers in Uyo and Lagos, highlighting what she described as a notable difference in their behavior toward her.
She stated:
“Toyota Bolt guys in Uyo are so cheap. When I say cheap, they are very cheap. I ordered a Bolt in Uyo and spoke to the guy calmly, and he already fell for it. He told me not to worry about paying, that it was a free ride because I’m a beautiful girl.”
She then shared a contrasting experience in Lagos, noting that the same approach failed with a driver there.
According to her, the Lagos driver demanded payment and warned of consequences if she refused to settle the fare.
“But in Lagos, I used the same tactics and the guy told me, ‘Madam, it’s either you pay me my money or we will have issues.’ I was shocked. Lagos guys are not playing with their money. Uyo Bolt guys are very cheap, I don’t pay cab guys in Uyo. Why would I pay when I have this voice?”
Her remarks have sparked widespread online discussion, with many Nigerians reacting to her story and sharing their own experiences with ride-hailing services in different cities.
