A grieving mother whose heartbreaking video went viral during the recent killings in Plateau State has spoken publicly for the first time, expressing her pain and faith after losing her only son.
The woman, seen in the widely circulated footage holding the lifeless body of her child, identified as Promise, described her loss as devastating but said she has chosen to entrust the situation to God.
“Promise is my only son. I give God the glory; He is the one who gave me Promise, and He is the one who has taken him back,” she said.
Despite her grief, the mother stated that she would not remain silent, insisting that justice must prevail for her son and other victims of the attack.
“I refuse to be silent because I believe that the blood of Promise and the innocent blood that has been shed will never be in vain,” she added.
She expressed hope that divine justice would take its course, even though those responsible have yet to be identified or brought to justice.
“The God of justice will arise and defend us. Even though we do not know those responsible or where they are hiding, we believe that God sees all and will bring justice in His own way.”
The incident, which has drawn widespread condemnation, is part of a series of violent attacks that have continued to raise concerns about insecurity in parts of the country.
