A Nigerian man, Chiedu Ikechukwu, has sparked reactions online after calling out Chioma Adeleke, wife of Afrobeats star Davido, over the cost of her outfit.
In a now-viral Facebook post, he questioned how much the outfit cost, claiming it was equivalent to several years of his salary.
“Do you know that the cost of your outfit is my 14 years salary, How will you be wearing outfit that can feed 5,000 people for 3 months,” he wrote.
He further advised her to opt for more affordable clothing options.
“Why wasting money on clothes you can buy in Aba, Onitsha, Okirika for a cheaper amount as low as 10k, Chef Chi please learn to manage and economize,” he added.
Also reacting, government official Ossai Ovie Success described the outfit as “half-naked,” adding to the criticism surrounding her appearance.
This is not the first time Chioma’s fashion choices have drawn attention. Last year, she faced backlash over her outfit at the 68th Grammy Awards, where she wore a sheer dress that sparked mixed reactions.
Responding to the criticism at the time, she said, “I will wear it again.”
The latest controversy has once again divided social media users, with some defending her right to dress as she pleases, while others supported the criticism.

In other news….A Nigerian man has ignited online discussion after cautioning men about so-called “church girls,” particularly young Pentecostal women, suggesting that they might not be as innocent as they appear.
In a video that went viral on X (formerly Twitter), he claimed that some women who often invite men to church or frequently discuss their faith may not always be trustworthy.
He highlighted that certain young pastors and choir members sometimes engage in behaviors that clash with the virtuous image they project.
He said in the video:
“Don’t think ‘she’s a church girl, so marry her.’ Some of these girls who invite you to church—you’ll see their young pastors there too. Look at the girls in the choir; many of them are spoiled. I wish more guys would share their experiences. Bro, stay away from these girls, or you’ll end up in trouble.”
The man warned that appearances can be misleading, with some using church involvement to attract men or hide their actual lifestyles.
