Nigerian singer Waje recently spoke candidly about her struggles with body image and self-confidence, shedding light on the challenges she faced earlier in life.
During an appearance on the Her Next Chapter podcast, hosted by Tope Olowoniyan, the 44-year-old artist revealed that she often felt uneasy about her upper body.
“Even before I had my child, I was always heavier on top and would try to hide it. In my 20s, I would wear up to three bras because I felt so uncomfortable,” she shared.
Over time, Waje explained, she gradually overcame those insecurities, gaining a stronger sense of self-confidence. Motherhood, she noted, also helped her embrace her body and view herself in a more positive light.
“Becoming a mother changed my perspective, and I became more confident with how I look,” she said.
Waje also acknowledged the support of close friends, including M.I Abaga and Kaffy, who encouraged her to develop resilience against negative opinions.
Earlier, the singer had revealed that she got engaged late last year, though she chose to keep her fiancé’s identity private.
