The user, @Doyinbiolaa on X (formerly Twitter), explained that the incident occurred after he took a photo of the woman without her knowledge.

He recounted that while grabbing some snacks, he noticed the woman bending down to pick up an item and thought it would make a good candid photo. “Then I saw a girl bending down to pick something. I thought, ‘This would make a nice candid shot,’” he shared. “I forgot the shutter sound was on. Click. Our eyes met… and I realized I might have just caused a full-blown Lagos crisis.”

The woman immediately approached him to question why he took her picture and slapped him before walking away, without any further confrontation.

Describing his reaction, @Doyinbiolaa said, “Face burning, snacks trembling in my hands, just standing there questioning all my life choices and mall safety.”
